June 14, We are now on our last cruise of this trip.

On June 11 & 12th we had our last 2 sea days on our 2nd ship of the trip. We went to a show where the captain spoke and then different crew members preformed. The singers were excellent and dancers from 2 different countries preformed a dance from their culture and heritage. Always amazing to see. I will miss the captain’s announcements as always gives lots of details, his English is very good and in person he is young (for a captain) and cute. We dressed up for the dinner and then went to the Italian restaurant. Another amazing sunset.
Saturday morning we left the ship and took an Uber to our hotel. We have stayed there 2 other times as we love the location. It is across the walking/biking path from the beach. The hotel gives us 2 lounge chairs on the beach and we pay for a beach umbrella. It is a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy the ocean and of course go swimming in the ocean. It is not a fancy hotel and it has been around a while. It is only 4 stories in an area of high rise condos. It does have a kitchenete and a bedroom so all we need. We usually have a peek view. This time they gave us an end unit that over looks the beach and the pool as long as we stand up to look out the window. No balconies or floor to ceiling windows but we just go to the beach so we don’t care.
It was very hot out so we relaxed in the room until 3:00pm when we went swimming and sitting on the beach under the umbrella, very fancy for us! The next morning we got up early for a quick breakfast and then back to the beach to swim and hit on the beach until 10:30am when we had to go get dressed, check out and Uber to the last ship of this trip, the Celebrity Beyond. Not many pictures of the beach as we took the water camera and those we get onto our computer at home to use. Regular cameras aren’t as easy for us to use as our iPhones. We have stopped bringing any camera except for the water camera as the iPhone does so well for us.
We always take pictures of our room or cabin when we arrive. This time we saw something we had not seen before, we have a balcony but it is very different. It is open to room until you close the doors. Only the top half of the window opens and that opens by an electronic button. There is also a button to bring down a full shade. It will be interesting to use it this week and see how we like it more or less than the usual patio door opening out to a typical balcony. The room feels more modern than most but it includes the usual bed, couch, closet, draws for clothes and of course a bathroom.
We are scheduled to go to CocoCay, Bahamas (their private island) tomorrow. We have not been there so we are excited to see it.
Tuesday is a day at Sea,
Wednesday, Cozumel, Mexico for snorkeling and a catermaran sail
Thursday, George Town, Grand Caymen for snorkeling at a shipwrck
Friday Day at Sea
Saturday, Nassau, Bahamas. Snorkeling and catamaran sail
Sunday, land in Miami and then fly home
Can you see why we fit this cruise in….. snorkeling, my favorite! It is going to be a great week! Many pictures will be on the water camera plus we won’t get Wi-Fi and will only use our phones when we have signal while in port, so who knows when the next blog will be available.
