May 20, 2026. Disneyland Paris

We got up early to take the train to Disneyland Paris about a 35 minute ride, again with lots of commuters. Most really move fast in the train station just like they do on the metro. Getting there went smoothly but once there David went to get the mobility scooter he had reserved for me while I waited on a concrete bench outside to save on walking. As you know I struggle with legs, feet & knee issues so the last time we were at Walt Disney World I found out the even with my daily walking and pool exercise, I am not up to Disney. They don’t rent them in Paris Disney so David found a company near by that did. Sadly he got the first email but not the second to tell him where to find the scooter and unlock it as no one was there. After many calls, text & emails he talked to someone who didn’t speak English. Later he got the email but by then 2 hours of prime Disneyland time were gone. So sad but at least we had the rest of the day. I spent the morning sitting on cold concrete in the wind watching people arrive from the parking area. I saw hundreds of families pushing strollers with kids from infants to kids old enough to not need them. I saw many kids and some grownups arriving with Disney hats, costumes and clothing and I didn’t see the train people but in the park later I knew they almost all did the same. It really is a thing! If I had any room in my suitcase, I might have gone for a special hat & tshirt for David & I.
After our rough start, David was pretty mad, but then he got over it and we had a great time. We started in the second park, Disney Adventure World with Tower of Terror. I love that ride and that was my pick. Lunch and then a brief look around this park and off to Disneyland Paris next door. Great park, a lot like California Disneyland as everything is fairly close together. David picked Pirates of the Caribbean, a great ride and then we realized that Thunder Mountain was open after all so we went there after we first went to Phantom Mansion, we know as Haunted Mansion. We went and looked at many parts of the park, had dinner and then when leaving, we were blocked by a parade, performance on the stage in front of the castle so of course we stayed to watch it.
We really like Disney but nothing compared to so many Disney fans out there from all around the world. They go crazy for it.
Back on the train and spent a little time repacking for our trip tomorrow.
Of course the sun came out and the weather was nice on our walk back to our hotel from the train station. Still a nice time in Paris and on to more adventures. The weather did put a bit of a damper on that part of the trip and it took lots of changing plans and expectations to make it all work out. That is part of life and part of travel sometimes.
